Ok so I still have a lot of electrical things on my car not working.. are there any wires that go to the back half of the car for the speedometer?? i also cant get the fuel guage to work!! I thought i had all the wires for the guage connected.. but i guess not.. anyways good ideas on how to test and work out untill i find why the speedometer is not working?

^The speedometer is gear driven, there will be a black cable coming out of the firewall that will come down into the engine compartment, on the front differential, you will see a place where that connects to the transmission... you can unscrew that cable and unbolt the sensor (1-10mm bolt, IIRC)... check to make sure that sensor isn't all chewed up, if it is, replace it... if not, you'll have to replace the cable or the speedometer assembly...

I'm not for certain on the fuel gauge, but it is an electrical sensor, that you should be able to trace down the wires...

here's some more info on the speedo gear and its location. its basically directly above the differential in the transmission.

my speedo stopped working also, im gonna check the sensor tomorrow but what should i be looking for/how to tell if its gone bad? and if mine is indeed messed up, is it better to get a new(mb622090 $69.62 from rockville) or used one?

dhrubio---> so somehow the wires to your speed sensor got cut or torn? i would definitely repair the broken wires. not sure how much wire is left on the sensor side, but i would repair it first before buying a new sensor.

From the pic it actually looks to me like the plug in pulled apart. It may be fixable
