Camber Kit Problem, how screwed am I

I just recenty purchased a 99 civic hb, when i picked up the car i took it right to a shop and had an alignment done just incase and to also have them inspect the car for things i may have not noticed. After the alignment was done the camber was still off in the rear. I ordered an ingalls camber kit bolts and washers, i was told the 3/4 adjustment would set it to 0 or at least pretty damn close. Well i got the kit yesterday and went to put it on, as i was tightening the bolt closest to the front of the car on the passenger side the nut on the inside of the frame popped the weld that was holding it in place sucks to be me right? Well i talked to a bodyshop near me and they said what i should do is drill a hole in the bottom of the frame in the center of the two holes and work with it this way. Question 1-has anyone had this happen? Question 2 should i just deal with the camber being off a little bit? Question 3 could the bolts have been the wrong size? It just seems like they may have bottomed out on the nut inside and caused it to pop. Please help, i don't want to have to drill holes if there is no need to. Thanks in advance.

step one honda recommends alittle bit of camber on there cars. i had an alignment specialist tell me the reccommend abotu a degree of negative camber. and 2 as for the weld. well i might have it welded back. thats the hoenst option and pictures would be a good start to.

pictures of what? The nut is inside the frame, The adjustment would take the wheels from / \ to | | on the angle of the rear tires.

a picture of the weld that ripped out. and the tires dont need to be at perfect 0. they kinda need a big of camber other wise they don't tuck into the wheel well when you hit a bump.

i didnt see that so basicly your saying you have a sheered off bolt in your bolt hole o nthe frame. if thats the case you could you should drill the bolt out and retap the hole for a slightly larger bolt size. or they make a tool for that for backing off damaged bolts and such i believe.

I think he's saying that the nut that was welded to the frame broke off and when it broke, it didn't break the weld, it actually took a chunk of the frame with it.

Here's what I would do. Make a rectangle template and mark where the hole was, and trace the pattern of the template onto the frame. Cut a flat piece of steel the same size as the frame, drill the hole for the nut and weld a new nut onto it. Then cut the frame where you traced the lines. Use some epoxy to secure strips of metal along the edges of the cut, on the INSIDE of the frame. That will make it easier to make sure the new piece of metal will lay flat and flush against the frame. And then weld in that new piece. Then spray it with some kind of paint so it doesn't rust on you.

ah. i just kidna thought about that after a while. well hoenstly theres your anwser. right up yonder. but honestly it works pretty well. you got a hoel after words to spray your sealant into so it doesnt jsut out.
