Ok i'm getting cofused here. I been hearing that rotas are stronger than spoons? Is this true?

I would agree, because the spoons are light as hell which equals not as strong while the rota's are spoon knockoff's and made to exceed spoons specs, they are heavier though.

I don't know the answer, but I don't agree with your logic Melt. By that rationale, Carbon Fiber would be weaker than fiberglass...

I see what you're saying, but arent spoons and rotas made out of the same material?

Nope. They just kinda look the same i thought. I think i remember reading a post somewhere of what materials they were and i dont remember them being the same.

So the real question would be which are actually stronger? I know FourthGenHatch has a set of rotas, here is his review
15'' Rota Slipstreams
Rating: 10/10
When you have a Torqueless Honda you need wheels that aren't going to weigh the car down to slug speeds. So there are only several routes to go. You could stick with 13'' steelies, you could track down the elusive Civic HX Rims, or you can buy some Lightweight Rims. If you don't want to spend $2000 on a set of 9lb Spoon Rims then I suggest you go the route I did and buy Rotas. Rota Slipstreams are copies of the Spoon SW388s. Now to the trained eye they don't look the same but the average joe we have no idea what real Spoons look like so it's close enough. Slipstreams come in at a very respectable 11.9lbs, while a 14'' Steel Rim is about 20lbs. Rotas pass JWL and VIA certifications, the hardest to pass in Japan. So they are not only light but very strong. They look excellent, mine are Gunmetal and it is truely a beautiful color. I highly recommend these Rims.

yea... the lightweight spoon rims are very easy to damage i've heard, because of the material they are made of.

Thats what im saying, i have heard this too. Everyone round here gets the bronze ones so people wont brand em posers.
