I found me another CRX... it's a 1991, not sure if it's HF or DX (There's nothing on the back right corner of the rear hatch glass, if that helps)... but it's decent looking, just the typical rust over the rears, and not even much of that (for a NY car).

It's black, 5sp, has standard maintenance and upkeep performed regularly, includes some paperwork, and has a clean title, and it's coming up for sale this spring, the guy said he would let me know a month in advance when it was up for sale, so I could get the money around, so that I would be able to be the first to buy it... he's put new parts into the engine (water pump, timing belt, alternator, new belts and hoses, and (for some reason) a new intake box and pipe... all stock.) Exhaust is in good condition, no leaks/holes, and suspension... well... suspends. I haven't gotten a chance to drive it, nor have I checked anything else, but he said once it was for sale, he wanted it out of his driveway as soon as possible to make room for his F650 that he's buying... so it would most likely go cheap...

What I actually wanna know, is what would any of you pay for this car, in the condition that I described it? I mean, I'm looking for the absolute highest price that anyone would pay for it, just for a reference point... I've never really paid more than 500 for a car... so I don't pay attention to actual values, but I wanna know what I'm gonna be getting for my money, in terms of if I were buying it from someone that knew what they had.

So, basically, if this was your car, what would you want for it?

Thanks for the help, hope to get some answers soon.

Happy Motoring :)

Probally the usual price for a okay condidtion reliable running rex, depending on ext/int condition, anywhere from 1000-1700 (here in florida anyways thats normally the round about pricing on CRX's).

Usually no letters on the glass signify that its a DX ... but you could check under the pass. side carpet on the firewall ... mines stamped HF in white letters ...

I don't know whether the trim level could help determine the price tho :icon16:

So the lack of sunroof and rear disc brakes has narrowed it down to an hf or dx model. If you can view the front spindles and they look tiny it's probably an hf. Another clue is the engine itself... mpfi = hf, dpfi (round thing on intake) = dx I think the hf and dx both had shitty seats so I can't remember if that is something to look for. Just go pop the hood and you'll be able to tell... Oh yeah, for a stock 16 year old crx with rust I wouldn't pay more than 500 bux...

interior is immaculate, Si seats and such... he's got a 'teg center console for it... the "JDM" fake ass back seat thing that was only made for european models, as far as I can tell... (and yes... euro rex's had back seats in them, it's not just a rumor)... but it's the stock euro seat, not the Ebay one. and I've already got all the basic goodies that ppl always get when they think they wanna pimp their car.. and have no idea what they're doing lol.. short throw, header, full 2 1/4 exhaust, Halo headlights, blacked tails, corners, front lights, etc. so all the stock parts will be for sale most likely... so I can basically get part of my money back quickly, since up here, the shit goes fast. and I can get the rear disc conversion cheap too... like 100 for everything from Gary's (local yard). Plus, I can get all the base parts for an LS/Vtec or CR/Vtec for under 300... so it's all good.. I can pretty much take it anywhere I want.

it's a DX, I'm pretty sure... and DPFI isn't a prob for me.. I planned on swapping the hell out of it anyway. I am going with LS/Vtec... I basically want to keep it stock looking, sleeper style... even tho anyone with a brain will know that it's not stock.. just by looking at it... or listening to it... or when they finish a few buslengths behind me. :):):)
