Throttle Position Sensor...malfunctioning?

Hey everyone (again). I've been posting a lot on here lately, but that's just because I like getting lots of responses, and they seem to really help me. I tried to adjust my TPS within factory specs according to the Service Manual, and with a feeler gauge and ohmmeter. I could never get the TPS to measure zero ohms at all. Closest I think I could get it to is like .360 or something like that. Could a TPS that couldn't be adjusted exactly to specs be bad, causing a rough/random idle?

For instance, this morning, when I started the car up (it was cold outside..about 35), it would first idle up to about 1500rpm, then when I turn on the heater max, the idle would slowly drop down until it was at 750rpm...still when it's cold though. Then when I would press down on the gas so it runs about 2500rpm for a few seconds, then let my foot off the gas, the car would do better.

When the car is warm, and I slightly step on the gas from idle, it hesitates a little, then the rpm jumps up. It runs fine between 1500rpm and 4000+ rpm, no problems noticed at all. Has a lot of power too. Could a bad TPS cause any of these symptoms that I'm having?

Just in case, I got another used TPS today from Ebay, looking forward to getting it, and seeing how it does when I install it.

The problem can't be the ISC as that is brand new. I paid like $80 for a brand new one, although the old one works fine too.

Just wanted to let all of you know what my exact symptoms are. Other than the idling problem with shaking and slight random idle, the car is fine.

You mean the module inside the distributor? Was that the part that was giving you trouble?

I just put in my new MSD coil. Car starts up a lot faster now. Still runs rough though. I unplugged the TPS while the car was running, idle went up and smoothed out considerably. Would it normally do that if you disconnect the TPS? Just curious. Well I'm looking forward to getting my other used TPS from Ebay...I know that one will probably be better than the one I have. The one I have sounds like it's sticking...because the idle varies between 500rpm and 1000rpm all the time, due to the TPS. When it's disconnected, it doesn't do that.
