Hello,
I need to replace my shocks and struts and am considering using an after-market brand such as KYB.
Before I do so, I figured I would see if anyone has done something similar, and if so, were they happy with the result.
Thanks,
Anthony

I would say go Bilstein or Koni, concerning shocks. Both offer nice, firm rides. I assume you are remaining at stock ride height?

I do not have the sport package, and I will be leaving the car at the stock height. I would like to maintain the same ride as the original shocks and struts. (I am not looking for a stiffer (or looser) ride.)
Do you consider Bilstein and Koni superior in ride quality than KYB? Will they stiffen the ride over the original BMW shocks or maintain a similar ride?
I installed KYB AGX adjustable shocks in my Miata, and am very happy with them in that car, but they did stiffen up the ride - as expected. I do not want that in my BMW, so I was considering KYB GR2 instead of the BMW mainly because of cost. (KYB doesn't even make an AGX version for my car).
