my taurus i actin up

in have a 1996 tarus wagon in when i first got it it rided good then i turned it off then later came back started it up it started with no problem its just i couldnt take it out of gear its like it was stuck then my brake light barely come on when my brake lights on thats when i can take it out of park can any body help me out

You have to hold down the brake pedal before you can take the car out of park.

he's right you have to hold your foot on brake pedal to get it out of gear..

As previously mentioned, you need to depress the brake pedal completely to shift from park. Are you pressing the brake pedal? If so, are you saying the brake lights don't seem to be as sensitive as they should be work don't seem to work reliably?

If that's the case, there is a brake pedal switch that may be intermittent and should be checked or replaced.

real funny ever one i took it to the shop in they said something that was connected to my brake padle went bad in now its fix

I would have to guess it was the brake light switch.
