What would you suggest and why? Debating between a 91-95 Acura Legend or a 93-97 Lexus GS300. Lookin for a car that is reliable, gets 22+mpg highway, fun to drive. I found Legends from $2800-$4000 and GS's $4000-5200. The Legends have 112-130k and the GS 140-180k.

Haven't driven either of them, but I much prefer the GS...

You seem to be looking for a car that is cheap also. Any repairs the GS300 will need will most likely be expensive. Just one thing to consider before making the purchase.
Cars you might also like might be lexus sc300/sc400, nissan 300zx non-turbo(90-96), subaru legacy gt (late 90s), impreza 2.5rs, nissan maxima (95-99?), mitsubishi galant (late 90s), honda accord (the later the better, but all of them are pretty good), and many other cars
I would reccomend a nissan maxima since it seems to meet your needs, cheap to find spare parts or replacement parts, many were sold so there are a lot of used parts at junkyards, it's cheap, it's reliable and it gets good gas mileage. On top of that it costs only slightly more than the lowest those cars you are looking to get...I've seen some decent examples of the maxima go for $4000-6500, the highest price is usually south of 8000...which is for the later years of that generation/style. They also have a lot of aftermarket support and from everywhere I've read, they are safe cars...I believe they came with airbags and ABS standard too.
You can also get one with lower mileage than the cars you mentioned, most likely under 100k miles and possibly under 75k miles if you look hard enough.
