just started hearing this noise today. It starts and sounds like its coming from front brakes area, makes a steady noise til i step on brake then it stops.
my car has 23K miles and i just got it in june. YES still under warranty 100%. But i thought id ask here to see if its something i can take care of. Maybe its brake or rotor related. noise is hard to describe, it starts when im driving then when i put on brakes it stops. But it feels and seems like its in the brake area in front. brakes are in good shape too.. rear are like new and front is ok , almost time to get new ones but not yet from what i was told when i got oil changed at the dealer.
any ideas???

Could be the brake pads. They start making noise when they start to wear out. Mine did exactly the same thing before I had them replaced, though that wasn't until about 50k miles. 23k sounds a little soon to me.

yes thats what it was, brake pad was worn down a lot. i just had pads checked in october when oil was changed, they said they were ok but would need replacing soon. oh well its soon i guess. Im the 2nd owner of this car, and brakes havent been changed yet. maybe first driver was rough on brakes.
thanks for feedback. I couldnt imagine it was the brake cause like you said, it was seemingly too soon. but i guess it wore down. funny how the pad itself on inside was worn way down yet the outside was fine... its like the part that gets squeezed first gets worn down the most but other pad was fine, what a waste.

Yep, mine were the same way. I think they're supposed to have Electronic Brakeforce Distribution or something to even out the pressure on both sides of the rotor, but it doesn't seem to work very well.
Glad you got it figured out.
