Oil Change

Hello AF
Recently I had my oil changed at a local mechanic's shop, but the 'change engine oil' light still comes on. I know he changed the oil and the filter because I watched him every step of the way. Is there a reset button in order to make this light go off or could there be something he overlooked?
Also, I don't know how normal this is, but the oil gauge needle increases from 40 up to 60 when accelerating. It then decreases back to 40 when at a stand still. Is that normal or a sign of something?
Thanks
Sim

Oil change shops dont know how to reset the oil life monitor system. Or dont do it consistantly. This should be in your manual as well:
1) Put the ignition to "Run" (engine not running)
2) Floor and release the accellerator pedal 3X within 5sec. Not too fast, not too slow, Just a steady, full range of motion with in the 5sec.
3) The change engine oil icon on the dash will *flash* to indicate the system has been reset.
Done!
I thought all fancy Envoy's came with the driver information center where you clear the OLM throught that?!?

Or if you have the DIC (Driver Information Center), select "Oil Life Monitor" and hold down reset for a few seconds.
Your oil pressure is acting normally as you described.
C.B.
P.S. It would have been quite helpful if you had indicated what model and year vehicle you were inquiring about.

I'm sorry, I always forget to include the year and model. I have an 02 SLE.
