I finally decided that I will throw down 20 bucks for a repair manual  So for a 01 Civic, should I get a Haynes manual or Chilton? Any opinions?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... Thanks for the input. I will drop that whopping 20 to go buy a Haynes.

do the right thing for your car.
chilton, haynes, and dealer
each has strong points.
-chilton is more in depth with fewer pictures, for people doing more than minor maintenance.
-haynes has more pictures and simpler explanations, for those doing minor work, or who are unfamiliar with cars.
-dealer has 100% correct information, for folks wishing to make it factory correct and perfect, also contains good OEM info for tuners to start working from.
each also has drawbacks:
-chilton has few pics, and makes a hell of a leap between their 'basics' section and the 'overhaul' section. it's like going from 4th grade straight to 10th.
-haynes is missing detailed information on some procedures (differs by make)
-OEM service manuals can be convoluted, and portray the maintenance of the vehicle as if even the slightest change from the factory setup will result in your car blowing up when you start it. better not swap that airbox for a better one!!! your car will explode in a ball of flames on the highway!
so i just buy all 3. plus then when you sell it if you have 3 different manuals for it, your buyer knows you've taken care of it, and it may affect the final selling price.
this is all IMHO of course. i'm no NASCAR pit crew chief or anything.
