RPM Jumping?

Hey you guys,

Back again for some help on my 01 GASE six cylinder. My RPMs jump about 500 rpm back and forth at certain acceleration. At first I figured that it was the TPS, but that was not it. Is there anything electrical that controls specifically the RPM?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

You may have a vacum leak causing the surging rpm's.

If you have a CAI and its cold and windy,
this causes mine to surge rpm's.

No warning lights or other acceleration problems?

Nope I don't have a CAI just the stock air box. It's cold here in MI but it does the same thing during the warm summer months as well. Whats the easiest way to check for a vacuum leak? I heard some soapy water in a spray bottle once a while ago...
I haven't once got a single warning light and I'm not having any other acceleration problems. If I just accelerate a little harder it works just fine...:screwy:

Well I guess it could be your MAF or something along that line.

I'll have some test procedures up for the MAF soon,
like today :D

The best way to find vacum leaks is to listen for a whisling sounds.
Could be any nuber of the vacum lines, both rubber and hard plastic ones.
