Gentlemen:
I'm swaping out struts and rear levelers on my 97 pa. I'm going with monroes (MA822's for the rear) Will the OEM air hoses hook up to these shocks or will i have to use adapters?
(just a side note)
My leveler air compressor just wasn't putting out enough air. I can't believe GM located this pump right behind the rear tire. I drive alot of dirt/gravel roads, and as you can imagine, the tire just loaded this area with fine dust, dirt, mud etc... over the years. When i finally removed the pump to clean it up, i found the air filter hose was kinked off so it had no way of getting air. I'd like to meet some of these engineers who decided up behind a tire was a good place to locate this pump. Anyways....i'm gonna move the pump to the inside of the trunk somewhere... Thanks for the rant......

I think they have different fittings on the MA822 however, the Monroe struts should come with the threaded fittings and ferrules for the air lines. This is (http://info.rockauto.com/ACDelco/Detail.html?AirLift.jpg) what the ACDELCO strut & fitting looks like. They use a rubber boot with a wire clip, to secure the lines to the fitting.

I don't think many engineers think about winter, dirt roads, or inclimate weather all together anymore. Some of these cars they're comming out with. Sheesh...
I notice it in my Park Ave especially... Unless your car came equipped with mud-flapps, there is a perfect pocket behind every wheel to cram salt, sand and whatever crap is on the road in there perfectly. I have 2 rocker pannels and 1 door starting to rust out because of this.
I also noticed around my rear shock towers that there is a ton of pastry-flake rust around the tower tunnels... Very cramped spot...
Darn engineers. (They did make a damn nice riding car though!)
Good luck with the swap, please let us know how she rides!
