Bass blockers

i have a couple 300 mhz bass blockers, i need a pair of 600, can I wire 2 300s in line with each other? Im pretty sure the answers no, and your reading this thiking im retarded... but i was just curious if i could save 10 bucks.

I do believe you have 300Hz, not mHz... :)

Why on earth do you want a 600Hz cutoff freq unless your running a 3-way setup. But if your running a 3-way I doubt you'd be using bass blockers...

for my 4x6s, they distort very easily and i was told that the ideal solution would be 600 or 800 hz bass blocker. Sorry for the unit slip up too btw.

your 4x6"s distort easily because they are crap. if they cant play below 300hz they are worth nothing.

Thanks for belitteling me and everything guys but I had a simple question. If I had the money to go out and buy a nice system right now I would, but for now im making the best of what ive got. Way to be assholes.

maybe they just need less power. a full range speaker should easily be able to handle bass down to 100hz at it's rated power. or maybe you are sending them a distorted signal?

You'd be fine with the 300 hz filters, hell that's plenty high actually. I have 2 pairs of Infinity 4x6 plate speakers, the filter on my cd player is set to 110 hz and I can go down to 90 but the cd player distorts the speakers at high volume playing that low, not because they're overpowering the speakers though.

I just hope you realize how high 300 hz is, you won't really have much bass at all but it will keep the speakers from distorting and sounding bad. :2cents:

I'll bet money the distortion your hearing is your headunit clipping. :)


If you put just a small amp on them and then set the gains right i'll put money on it that your "distortion" will go away. Then you won't even need the bass blockers at all.
