Tachometer

i need some help im doing lot of engine work on my existing 3.8 so i fugire id put in a tach just to see whats going on i got one off my buddy and i have no idea how to hook it up ither find the tach prot under the hood or crimp it to one of the ignition wires anyone have some advice
