Need Ideas Where To Run Audio Wires

:rolleyes: I'm no way an expert in installing car audio stuff but I will admit that I'm cheap. Cheap with the install fee not the audio gadget. I'm sneaking this question while at work so let me get to the point. I own a 91 Accord and I have Monster Audio RCA cable to run from front HU to rear Amp. I quickly scanned the vehicle and have no idea where exactly is the good and easy place to run these wires. The wires are slightly bulky and will not be easy to hide. Also, will it be OK to run the Amp power wire, side by side with the audio wires? I have all the gadgets in place except for the wirings. Unfortunately, my new schedule at work screwed me up big time. Working even on weekends now for the next year or so, which leaves me no time to play with the install. I'll probably have a few daytime hours this coming weekend so I want to make it count rather than killing it on figuring out where to run the wires. I only have an outdoor garage space to work so time is really crucial because frost is just around the corner. Anyone with the same year Honda, or any expert installer who can share some ideas, please, I appreciate any suggestion or help.

I always run my RCA's thru the center console

I usually remove most my interior, run the rca's, and speaker wire on one side of the car under the carpet, and the power wire and remote turn on on the other side of the car under the carpet.

If you bought a high quality set of rca's you might be able to get away with running them next to your power wire, but if not you should keep them as far away from the power wire as you can to avoid addind lots of noise to your system.

I was thinking of running the wires from the center console, fish it out under the driver seat carpeting and running it along the rear door sill towards the trunk. Will the wires, being bulky, be difficult to hide under the carpet by the door sill? Will there be any danger of them being damage due to occasional foot traffic? How difficult is it to remove the rear door sill moulding? I simply don't have time to remove the seats and also trying to save time by bunching all the wires together. How much distance, is considered safe distance between the power lead and audio cables to prevent it from generating any noise?

on my old accord i ran the wires from behind the radio to the plastic moulding that seperates the carpet from the outside of the car at the bottom of the door. that piece just snaps out, and there is usually enough room for whatever you need. plus, they are on both sides of the car, so you can run the power on one side and the rca's on the other.

I did run all my wires under the door sills straight from the dash to the trunk. All audio wires by the driver side and the power wires on the passenger side. All audio/video wires came out too bulky as expected, since I have my car wired for Amp and DVD player plus extra input wiring setup that terminates at the end of the center console for PS2, ready whenever I need it. I fabricated plastic covers over the audio/video wires to protect it from foot traffic and to make the carpet lay flat. Everything works fine...thanks again for the input! :D
