Did you already get the subs if not you might want to get some ideas on some others.
I wouldnt trust anything that rates there rms at 1/5 of what the "max" power. But considering max isnt a real number it sounds like they inflated them to try and sell them.
AS for the box, im assuming your looking into prefab. But depending on your car sealed would be the best. Ported depends on what you listen to and unless you are getting a pro to build a bandpass prefab bandpass enclosures are crap.
What amp are you planning on running.
Also anyone who reads the specs please tell me im reading this correctly.
THE NEW RUBBER MAGNET COVER LAPS OVER PART OF THE BASKET FOR BETTER SOUND AND APPEARANCE
I think they meant mounting surface gasket.

that seller is quite reputable i have dealt with them...five times perviously and im very happy.
yes i already bought those subs, a kenwood monoblock amp, and a power acustik 2 farad power cap.
are you saying kenwood isnt a good car electronics brand??? i have heard many people talk about them in a very positive way and they make head units, speakers, subs, and amps so i can get all one brand (dont ask why).
so sealed, then?? sealed enclosures are cheapest of course but if ported or bandpass would sound better...if i got bandpass i wasnt going to get a cheap $40 one off eBay i was going to get the Q-LOgic one, i have seen sealed q-logic boxes work well and people say they are a reputable name brand for sub boxes
and as far as what i drive, see my sig

there is a small write up on this in the newbie thread. The problem with prefab ported and bandpass (a higher order ported), is that the tolerances can be pretty tight, especially for bandpass ...... they need to be built for a specific speaker. Sealed boxes are much more forgiving.

I would suggest you building a box, its REALLY easy...Before i started, i wanted to just buy one for like $100 or something, cuz i wanted a slot ported, and those are more expensive than the sealed...
It all depends on what kind of music u listen to...If you listen to akon and R&B stuff, then you should use a slot ported like mine...but if you listen to rock, then you should get a sealed...
"Smack that......smack that......"
So one day i was bored and i have some 1/2 ply-wood boards down at the basement, dont use 1/2 inch ply-wood if your gonna build a box, use a medium density fiberboard and use a 5/8 inch, i didnt wanna go buy them cuz i didnt think i would of finished the box cuz it suppose to be HARD... :banghead:
But in like 2 hours, its done, bam, easy, the sides, back, top and bottom were super easy, and the front is alittle harder, but when you buy the subs, they should come with a 12" template that u can use to draw on the board and cut them... this is how my turn out to be like after 2 days... :iceslolan

They are loud enough for me...I was never into killing my brain cells at age 16.... sorry about that......
The slot ported box makes it more deep, clear and loud, my deck can go up to 50, and at 35 - 40 its like way too loud for me, and i listen to R&B and Hip-Hop and all that...
Just becuz i spend $200 lesser than you guys on SUBS, doesnt make you guys the SMART ones...

is the fact that walmart sells it enough of a reason? but main one would be that 2 people at work have sony subs and the cone is plastic and one of them has a crack in it. and the bass in them are have a sharp not deep bass to them. and it's not the box.

that might be because kicker's aren't meant to be sealed and/or he has the cheapest ones they offer.

Well...like i said, the xplods sounds good enough for me, i can use the money on other things like intake, exhaust, and a bodykit, which i bought all three...
I just installed my magnaflow exhaust and my AEM CAI is on its way, i just ordered a Bomex bodykit so im pretty happy right now...

sadly, nearly all of them have to deal with price. like paying over a grand for focal or rainbow speakers. the compromise there is in your wallet.

wel, not really .... some equipment is designed for different applications. Some subs are SPL based, they get really loud but are not too accurate - some are SQ based, they are very accurate but not really loud. Some speakers (mid/tweets) are in your face, some are laid back, some are very accurate. Some expensive CD players have a gazillion functions, some concentrate on SQ and can be very featureless. Like I said, there are lots of compromises made in the design and engineering phase of a product, and one of those is the projected market cost.
