just bought an 89 240sx with a single overhead cam. (KA24e) have a 93 altima motor with dohc. (KA24DE) Any one know if the dohc head, etc. will swap to the sohc block? will I need more than just the tensioners to make the sswap? Are the bolt patterns the same, etc. Any help is appreciated.

it should fit, they're both KA24 engines, i'm not exactly sure but i think it's a straight swap. i believe the early VG enginge could accept later VG30DETT heads, so i'm guessing the KA will be the same.

You might wanna check this to be sure, but I believe that the SOHC set up actually provides better performance for cars that dont have a lot of performance modifications done to them. I think it was low end torque most effected and that the DOHC set up just gives you more potential for top end power. So you might wanna save yourself the hassles and potential bag of worms you might open by switching them out until you feel your packing enough juice to capitalize off of it. Just my :2cents: Good luck with it thought if you decide to go after it.

gotcha, we're still looking this whole thing over, and figuring out exactly what we got, and what we need. thanks for the input.
