How/where did they catch you? If they caught you while driving, they can nail you pretty hard. Otherwise, I'm imagining a large fine of some sort. Either way, don't drink underage. If you can help it, don't drink at all. It's better to remember the stupid shit you were doing the night before.

One year probation, if you're caught again you will spend the rest of your probation in jail. My ex got caught over Christmas break, had to spend 12 hours in county jail, got a $100 fine, and is on probation for the next year.
It's better to remember the stupid shit you were doing the night before.
You can drink, just dont get shitfaced. I drink, and I can remember most of the nights unless I got totally shitfaced which I chose to do.

Thanks. It was in my dorm, but town police were involved. I'm looking at license suspention for 90 days along with my fine. I got out of drug charges *scary as shit*. Managed to walk away with just the underage

You're nuts man. All they've got is underage drinking. No drug charges. All I'm in for is a fine, license suspension and up to 90 days in jail.

So they can crate you up and ship you off to Iraq but they won't let you have a few drinks in your dorm? You should have told the fuckin po off, or better yet go down gunnin on the fuckin cops. Who would want to live in a world like this anyways.

So why bother asking us then?
FUCKED!
Damn, the US has some draconian laws. 90 days in jail for under age drinking?

haha that sucks man. i've never heard of anyone getting nailed for underage drinking. i mean i've known people who have been nailed with public drunkenness, and they were underaged, but not underaged drinking. although this is canada so the drinking age is lower and cops are very different.

I see kids brought in on Minor in Possession all the time. If it is your first you will most likely get off very easy depending on your JP. The most common sentence around here is a fine around $100, some community service and alcohol treatment classes.

If you weren't drunk, how did they nail you for underage drinking? Minor in Posseion is an entirely different thing.

In PA possession, consumption, or transporting is grounds for underage.

You will just get a slap on the wrist this time. Just don't get caught for it again. The punishments get alot worse your 2nd adn 3rd time. Also for future reference...check your college rules. When we were in college, it was a common misconception that you actually had to open the door for cops. Without a warrant, we didn't have to. And what cop is gonna go wake up the judge at 2am to get a warrant to stop some college kids from drinking. It ain't happening. If you refuse to let them in, they will try and say they will bring down their sergant..and then he wont be as lenient...blah blah blah...it's all meant to intimidate you and make you let them in.
So check into it. My roommate and I were involved in an 'incident' that actually resulted in the university changing their entire alcohol policy...so yeah...this is familiar territory. The university should have a lawyer and what not who cannot give you legal advice, but they can answer questions about law and university policy. So track them down and ask.

Oh yes, i remember my college buddy getting caught for underage drinking. They send you off to 'alcohol problem' classes and don't let you go until you admit you have a drinking problem. Because having a beer under 21 automatically means you're a drunk.

i got charged with possession when i was 16, i got my ass chewed out by the judge and sent to a "stop" class. It was just a 3 hour class on how drinking and smoking pot is terrible.

to an extent, you can join the army and fight for your country over here before you can buy alcohol. but you can drink from age 5. the laws on that are fairly relaxed in England, if you go into mainland europe, you couldn't get them and more relaxed, in places like France and Spain they'll sell anything to anyone.

Not quite. None of my friends that got MPI's ever had to take any stupid, b.s. AA classes. They just had to serve community service. One of my friends got an MPI just hours before he turned 21 by TABC. They actually came back about 20 minutes later and tore up the ticket and apologized, saying they realized after they left how close he was to being 21.:icon16:
