Umm well im gonna scrap this saab 9000 turbo i have .... i was thinking maybe i could take the turbo and shit off it and fit it to my civic ... i have hered that the turbos in the 9000s where set really low so maybe i can fit it without doing much to my engine ...... any of u guys familiar with the saab 9000 turbos ?? or any of u know if my 1.4 engine will be ok with a low pressure turbo on it ????

i dont know too much about turbos ... if u guys rekkon it should be ok what parts should i strip off the saab ?? please help :)

I'm building a junkyard turbo like those on the sites. But I am using the Chrysler Starion turbo. Any small turbo should work, as long as it is in good condition.

As for what you can boost? I'm not really sure on a 1.4. I know the 1.6 can handle a easy 5-8 psi without too many problems.

why waste time on that? i dont see why it would be worth it, probably just blow your engine, i wouldent even turbo a 1.5 doesent seem worth it to me

I was gonna do the turbo conversion just cos i can get most of the parts from the saab :) ... was only looking to do a very small boost anyways :) ... Like i said before i dont know too much abouts turbos is there anyway to find out how much boost it is putting out as standard ?

oh lol ... forgot ... i guess u dont get them in the US hehe .... its a Renault 5 GT Turbo ... somthing like 125bhp as standard from a 1.4 turbo engine .. .not too mad but they can be tuned to over 200bhp without much hassle ... very fast and light :) i just want to be able to keep up with a standard one :)

hehe i have seen a 10 second R5 Turbo :) at a drag track in the UK called Santa Pod .... this thing had two engines and pushing out over 200bhp each plus he had NOS hooked up to them both :) but he never used the NOS lol ... he ran just over 9 and 1/2 seconds :) probly closer to 10 but hay it was bloody fast :)

Because, if you DO blow the engine, it's gonna be HELLA cheap to drop another one in, whereas, if you blow up a B16, it's gonna be pretty spendy.

MKS: It wont be as cheap as you think to turbo your engine, because u wont be able to use the turbo manifold, downpipe, or turbo piping. Swap your engine then turbo.
