98 oil pump diagram

I have a 98 Intrigue with 189k miles - obviously I've put some miles on it... Anyway, yesterday my low oil light came on and I realized I was rapidly losing oil. I learned that I was losing oil when my engine was running from the passenger side of the motor... I watched while it was running at it seems to be coming out of what I assume is my oil pump, it appeared to be coming out near some sort of sensor that appears to be attached to the oil pump.

The question is does anyone have any suggestions or does anyone have a diagram of the oil pump or that region of the engine so that I actually know what I'm looking at while I am trying to diagnois this problem?

Even with 189k she's been running great - got a new tranny at about 130k but this is my first major engine issue..

I dont think your oil pump can be seen from out side the engine :grinno:

You probly have a crankshaft seal bad.
Does it pour out when its running?

If it is coming out of the sensor replace it.
The oil pump in on front of crankshaft behind timing chain.
What you see on the outside is the oil filter adapter and oil sending unit/sensor.
Replace the sensor and you should be good.
For pictures the Auto Zone web site may have a how to on it.
Good Luck And let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice! After cleaning the area so i could see exactly where the oil was coming from it turned out to be the sensor... Pretty simple procedure.
