car trunk help

well i didnt really know where to put this topic but here goes.

well i have a 95 3000gt and my trunk works fine but theres no pressure holding the trunk up. so i have to constantly hold up the trunk or else it would just slam shut. and when it does slam shut it makes my alarm go off( just giving you an idea of how heavy it is) . how can i put more pressure into the trunk so that it will stay up when its opened?

is the trunk held up by pressurized shock absorbers?
you can replace them and it will work fine.
