He was PISSED. he said i am luck if i was doing 3mph faster then he would have arreted me towed me car and took my licens for a year. But now i have to go to court and pay the ticket. This sucks, there goes my paint money.

Dam man. You passed the 25 mph over the limit which is considered reckless driving (you were doing 37 mph over the limit. Hope everything goes well.

There goes all my paint job money. Crap. I just got it all together for it to. oh well, what i get for being stupid.

if you just pay the fine off you are gonna have a load of points on ur license. if you go to court then they may reduce the points or fine. did u even notice you were doin 90?

you will probably wind up having to take driver improvement class or something like that.
here in md if you get a ticket you can go to the court house, pay the fine, and accept the full points that go with the violation or go to actuall traffic court and see if you can get the points or fine knocked down.

ya i am going to traffic court, but i don't know if they will even help me since i was doing 37mph OVER the speed limit. I just HAVE to get this off my record. I hope i will have enuf for it all. My brother went to the same place for a stree racing ticket but he was not going near as fast as me and his was $1,000 all together after paying TLC. I just hope i get a little fine and some driving class or court supervtion. I just pray they don't keep my licens.

if you haven't had any other tickets you could get a probation before judgement or somethin like that. it wipes the event off your record but you can't get any violation for a few months. maybe that will happen for you if you have a good enough excuse why you were doin 92 mph.

The thing that screwed your bro is he was racing. You were just being a young man with some hormonal issues. No matter what they will probably make you take classes. Your find is going to be your first born and you could very well lose your DL. I got a ticket the other day, mine was for my tint being to dark and I had to take it off...lol. I was pissed. But not as mad as you were I am sure. Good luck man. You're going to need it.

well i was looking at points for what i did and of course it is the most 50 points which means they can suspend my DL for 3 months. This sucks. I hope TLC can help me.

Not advertising here, just trying to offer you some options. You may want to consider this book (http://www.trafficticketsecrets.com/speeding-ticket-defense.html) on how to beat the system!

It is becoming common practice by Judges in many states to “throw the book” at speeders under 21. They have the community support and it shows that at least they tried to reduce “teen fatalities” in their court-room!

Where I live, due to the recent surge in teen traffic fatalities, you read something everyday in the paper about law enforcement “cracking down” on reckless teen drivers. They, (The Judges) are not concerned about protecting you from killing yourself, it is just an easy way to get good free publicity (political gain) and help boost the local/county/state operating budget. Wow, I would hate to be a 17-yr old going to court with a 37 mph over limit violation now days!:yikes:

BTW, in most states, 25 over the limit automatically becomes a state offense for reckless driving, so therefore, you cannot pay the ticket without first going to court!:uhoh:

Good Luck!

You're not totally screwed man. A couple years ago when I first got my car, I was racing my friend down one of the major roads here around 3 a.m.. and a cop out of no where pulled out and started chasing me down, so I pulled over.. Thing is, is that he didn't clock my speed so he just wrote me up for reckless driving. Went to court, judge laughed, made me pay a $240 court fine and the ticket didn't even go on my record. But I guess as far as money goes you're probably gonna be screwed. Good luck with man, let us know how it goes.

17 years old, 92 miles an hour.... you should be screwed. That's beyond hormonal issues...

Maybe you can tell them your accelerator pedal got stuck or the cable was frayed and you didn't realize it?

(Dylan should hop on this any minute now....)

(Dylan should hop on this any minute now....)

Meh, I'm tired, have to give a presentation in 13 minutes, and have to piss.

I say, let the Iraqi tribunal deal his fate. :disappoin

edit, instead of the dumb presentation, I'd rather be drinking a ice cold beer in 13 minutes. :(

Tell them you snapped a motor mount and it jammed the throttle linkage. Seen that happen on my dad's 67' bird in a parking garage.

You did it, you got caught, man up and accept it. That's just my opinion however. I feel the same way when I or my family does the same thing.

Traffic school is a good alternative if you're looking to get off easier. That, as you know, is more than enough to have your license suspended.

Good luck.
