so im back to work here after my florida trip and im miserable here. i met a beautiful girl that was everything im looking for, and she didnt want me to leave. im 90 percent sure im going to leave connecticut to start a new life. for the last 6 months ive been paying off every bill, loan i have, and im almost caught up. i owe 1800 on my car, and my income tax should almost cover it. im thinking of getting a loan for about 8 grand and just going, you only live once right? the moment i got into my driveway it started snowing, hard to get used to when you were just in 80 degree weather.......... any suggestions or thoughts?

Wait, let me get this straight. THE ghostrx7 found a girl he'd only want to be with and would throw away his life of hot sex with numbers of women because this one girl he met is everything he wants and needs and he only wants her? Or am I just stretching it?

im 90 percent sure im going to leave connecticut to start a new life. for the last 6 months ive been paying off every bill, loan i have, and im almost caught up. i owe 1800 on my car, and my income tax should almost cover it. im thinking of getting a loan for about 8 grand and just going, you only live once right? the moment i got into my driveway it started snowing, hard to get used to when you were just in 80 degree weather.......... any suggestions or thoughts?

It's simple math dude.

Florida > Connecticut

I say go for it. Hell you may go down there, become broke, homeless, no job, no girl, nothing....

but at least you'll be a bum in a state with hot women, nice beaches, and good tanning weather :grinyes:

haha, correct! she has the morals im looking for(cook, clean, great work ethics, etc.) i know shes only here for 10 more months on her visa, but who knows what could happen. al least i would have someone to be with for the major transition. you know the giddy happy feeling when you first meet a girl? it didnt go away..... im not saying that im going to move there and get happily married, but at least its a very good start to that possibility.

So wait a minute... you mean to say that you would stop driving around the company gas guzzling Hummer and living in your boss's house with the assorted crackheads living in the garage to up and move to sunny Florida, where your mom has a yacht and access to hot ukranian chicks. Yep, sounds like a good deal...

If you're miserable somewhere, fuck it, like you said, you only live once. Get out of the Northeast and experience a different part of the country. From an early age we're taught to get good grades, get a degree, enter into an entry level management position and work your way up in the company. This is your chance to break away and live somewhere else, be someone else. You might hit it off big, or you might go broke. That's life, and what makes it so exiciting.

Bottom line, if you want it, do it.

Do whatever you feel. Follow your heart. Enjoy your life. The only thing wrong with your plan is the $8000 loan. Loan payments suck. Interest rates suck. Save up some cash or you'll be paying off that loan for years.

well, i have 10 grand in 401k that i could borrow against for a cheap rate. i plan on getting a rent to own kinda house for 1 grand a month, if i get that, i could pay off like 4 months, and use 6 grand as a blanket, and pay some of the loan back with. my mother would also help out if i had to stay at her house, but i dont want to do that. she could look at any possibilities i find on the net, and i may just trust her and go for it that way. i mean come on, she was great at picking the girls........lol

and yes turtle, your right on, u guys know me too well....lol

Although it sounds like you've already made up your mind, I say go for it! You don't wanna be kicking yourself in ass later on down the road because you missed the chance to see how life coulda been. Although you might wanna bring some 2x4's and some nails, hurricane season will be a bitch.

Ya right. Florida=America's penis

i plan on getting a rent to own kinda house for 1 grand a month, l

Better plan for the long term: buy a house, get a mortgage. Same result, better terms.

Go for it! But you said they were foreign last time right? The ukranian girls? Make sure which ever one your with if it's them doesn't want you just for citzenship. Honestly... Do the math! Florida > Conneticut ! I'll be down there soon enough!

Best of luck but one thing I've learned is life's about taking chances maybe you caught up to your debt because it's a sign saying get out an go!

~ Cold weather only makes you depressed anyways I'd rather work a decent job in nice weather then a great job in cold imo~

jcsaleen, the girl is just a simple plus in my book. i dont count on going down there and instantly falling in love, but u never know.. i just see it as i have two cool girls that i could chill with and check the place out. when i used to see my mother in the past i couldnt find much young people, so having that is one thing that would make the move easier, you know? i also thought that me getting caught up on debt was a sign. ive taken loans for 15 grand for a car, i could definately take 6-10 for a life altering experience. also i agree about the jobs, if you are not happy, its not worth the money.

so what are monthly payments for morgages these days? i dont need a big house, maybe 100,000-150,000?

man i gotta see how life could be there......

i dont do all the major jobs on my own car, but im sure i could learn it easily since i know every part of the f'in car.lol really id probably try to land a job at the hotel my mother manages at for now, i could see some advantages to that! my mother worked at the place i work now before she moved 5 years ago, and ive been with the company 8 years.
my best friend lives in atl, and he's opening a rotary shop, specialty crazy shit, like an old chevy nova's with the 20b!! also the methane injections. im definately stoppin there for a haltech!

ya, not sure if im just getting a house, or renting a place for 750-850 a month. i might just take 5,000.00, i think that would cover me and give me some leeway. ive gotten loans for 15k for a car before, so i think i could take 5 for a life altering experience. plus the interest rate will be like 4% because its a secured loan...

Yea I thought it was pretty awesome, I was there for 2 weeks. I know its just that way because I'm not used to it. I'm sure you'd feel the same way if you came to Dallas, then you'd realize who fucked up it is when rush hour rolls around

yeah, the weather is important to me. alot of my perks are a free suv for the winter, which i wont need there. im really nervous, anxiety is through the roof, but i think i will be ok. i talked to our outside chain manager and he thinks im one of the best employees he has ever seen. he said he'd write me a letter of recommendation and help me as much as he can. he also respected the fact that i am going to stay and help for a smooth transition in filling my position. ive never felt this alive, and i would have never imagined that this would take place this fast. i had no plans of moving till 1 week ago. im trying to get someone to go with me to make it easier, but if not im on my own. anyone think im stupid? most say go for it, which gives me more confidence....
