Beautiful finish on that black paint. You do some awsome paint, what's your technique?

Don't look too close at the paint, it's so deep you might fall in. I love the smooth shiney finish you achieve with all your models. Another excellent model from you.

I begin with a base of flat black (tamiya) and wait 24hrs. Then I sray 3 coats of black and wait 24hrs. I sand with 8000 and sray 2 wet coats. After 48 hrs I sand it from 6000 to 12000. Finally I apply a compound. You really need to take your time...see the result.....:grinyes:

Brilliant finish and paintwork.
Only comment would be to add a black wash to the wheel bolts as someone also pointed out on a Porsche that I built, it definitely adds to the realism!

I never thought of using a flat black base, good idea. Thanks for the tip. Are you using polishing cloth? I usually wet sand with 1000, 1500 and 2000 ssand paper. My colors come out great but I still struggle with the black. I'll use the flat black for sure on my next project.

Yes I'm using a polishing cloth. I don't need to use sand paper under 6000....but it's always depend of the finish itself. Give me some news for your next black project:thumbsup: ....
