Fellow on pistonheads, by the name of Stephen Mullins, made this drawing:

Please link other people's F1-related art in this thread.
Peloton, if this grows into a nice bunch of drawings/artwork, maybe you could link to it in your thread on top?

not a bad try, some of the proportions are out but if it was done freehand on a computer

While not identical in every respect, I suspect that this image may have provided a template or just some inspiration for the artist. It was taken at the Nurburgring 4 hour race in 1995.

Interesting what he's done with the front air intakes, covering them up partially. Were they ever like that in real life? And where are the links to other drawings? Come on, you lot. :)

The original design of the '95 GTR front ends had those smaller openings. Later on they redesigned the nose piece with larger vents similar to those we are used to seeing, but they offered small plates to block some of the air flow at races in colder climates.
Nick Mason's #10R seems to wear the plates permanently as don't think I've ever seen it photographed without them. Here's a decent closeup shot:

I'll post some drawings I have later. :)

F1 monster, do you require complete car drawings only?
Here are some nice ones!

The FINA GTR (08R?) looks like a graphic modified photo!!
Hear is a splendid drawing, done with needle and thread.

Le Man,
any drawing, at any stage of completion. I just want one thread to consolidate all links to drawings. Many thanks for your contribution--that needle point is simply amazing. Must be a computer-controlled machine?
Peloton, no, I am talking about the NACA ducts just inboard of the headlights. See the squares drawn in at the top of those, presumably to block off airflow? Has that ever been seen on a real F1? Wonder why they are drawn like that.

I,ll see what I can do :evillol:
The NACA ducts you see are the early 95 spec. The front brake and radiator cooling got an update at around mid season (LeMan) These NACA ducts were then deleated. Some 95 cars still have this set up, 07r being one of those.
As for the embroidery, This was emblazoned onto the rear of the Gulf Team jackets for top team personnel and sponsors only.

Le Man, what I meant was, if you look at the drawing, you see that he has drawn a square panel at the top of the NACA duct, as if it can be closed off partially. Seen that on any real F1?

When they did some of the first shake down runs of #01R (Silver/Orange paint scheme) I saw those triangular vents covered over with tape in one photo. It was probably pretty cold at the time. Never seen any kind of cover in that location otherwise. They either had the vents or didn't.

It is a small carbon infill panel, that was added to aid air flow.
Yes.

So I posted this drawing on here when I completed it 3 years ago, but I felt like I might as well share again.

am i right to say? if you look real close at the image P25 posted, those small covers are actually on the Gulf car in the original image :)
