SAFC installtion

How is this done, do i combine the safc wires with the exsisting wire or do i cut the exisiting wire and replace it with the safc ones?

Well, considering I just found this, your 5 minutes are up... Whats the big rush? This is something you don't wanna rush and screw up. Wiring up the AFC is very important. If you do it wrong you could cause some serious problems to your ECU settings...

You do not cut and replace any original wires. You only tap the AFC's harness into them...

Yeah... what Brian said. The SAFC is not a stand alone. Doesn't it come with instructions anyway :) That probably would have told you in less than five minutes!

You do cut one wire. You cut air flow sensor and attach one side to one wire and the other side to another wire.. Thats where the afc converts the airflow enabling you to adjust for air fuel. vfaq has a wiring diagram

i have 2 more questions:

1) Shouldn't the safc come on with the key turned all the way to the right without cranking the engine with all the dash lights on?

2) If you have a safc that does not work and is connected to the car, will it make the car not start?

2) Could possible. Depends on how bad it's messed up and if the wiring is done right.

We'll the car was just running fine with the safc working and than all the sudden it wont start anymore. When this happend the safc won't turn on anymore. So can it be the safc causing the car to not start? Any thoughts?

That would be an electrical problem. Which circuit did you tap the SAFC into? That's where I'd start looking for blown fuses.

We'll the car that has this problem i'm planning to get for $1,500. This is the only reason he wants to sell it.

The car i'm getting is a 91 mr2 turbo with mods already:
1-trd widebody(car is color blue)
2-20g turbo
3-tenzo R rims(i think rs5)
4-safc
5- gauges and all them little things.

Do any of you guys think it is worth buying when the car doesn't turnover?

Well, I'd definetly consider it to be a problem... I would never buy a car that doesn't run unless I knew specifically what was wrong with it and if it was a simple fix... :2cents:

If i buy it and fix it, i should be able to sell it for at least $5,000 making a whole lot of profit.

And if you can't fix it, then what? Then you wasted $1500. It's really up to you if it's worth taking the loss, or if it costs more to fix than what you'll get back out of it.

I'm thinking if i can't find out what's wrong with it, i'm going to drop a new motor in it which will cost about 2g's and maybe $500 for wear and tear parts. Add it up and get a total of $4,000 for everything. Then i can sell it for about 5g's to 6g's and make $1,000-$2,000 profit.



It should work if i drop in a new motor that comes with all the wiring's and ecu.
