This is the new face lift for Japan, Europe and Australia, according to Road and Track. The new design is hoped to increase sales in those areas in which the current design has not been well accepted.

I like the new look, but I don't mind the current look which definitely has more "character" than the new one. Sometimes it takes me a while of seeing cars on the road to make a REAL assessment of how I feel about styling. I'm so used to the current "big eyed" WRX that it looks pretty normal to me now.

Wonder if Fujimi's wringing their hands now, ready to bring out the new version of the STi, since Tamiya rarely updates a model's styling??

As long as they paint the new one in the new Subaru Cheez Whiz yellow...mmmmm... :apuke:

I will be impressed with it if it moves past me at a faster rate than the other version.

It'll get bonus points if it's moving sideways at the time. :coolguy:

Looks like some phony cheese concocted by Kraft to go w/macaroni, or it looks like Velveeta.

Maybe it's Pumpkin Sunrise Mac 'n Dijoneeta. :apuke:

"Altezza lights" just got a whole new meaning - Altezza front light!! :apuke:

Really, the current version has grown on me. But this is ridiculous!

I don't think it looks that bad, but given a choice I would still pick the current one, I like it better :)

I saw it in a mag yesterday and imediately decided that i liked the look. I didn't like the current one for some time though!

The big question now is - Will Tamiya make it? My guess is they will almost certainly do the rally car so the road version should follow...surely!???:)

Look changed after only two years? Hmm..

Personally if you ask me, it kinda looks like a baby GT-R!

looks a bit like an SE-R to me. not suprising seeing as how subaru and nissan share parts

Ah, you hit on my problem. I have two STi's, and I'll bet Tamiya doesn't update the road version...but they probably will do a rally version. Which is fine w/me, I'd like to do a tuner/aggressive version but can't really justify getting a Tamiya rally kit of the current car, not quite enough different than the STi.

I don't think Tamiya will do it, cause they don't bother.
They only do the Rally stuffs and only one on the road version. :bloated:

I think Tamiya may just do it....for the simple reason....
http://www.swrt.com/74331.html
since they will make the rally car, why shouldn't they make the street version too, after all, they did for the current one

EDIT: seeing the rally version makes me like it...A LOT

Hmmm, looks different from the prototype shots I saw! Gotta say it looks even more miserable than the previous one, and that looked like it had spent a week with a manic depresant who had really given up on life!

I am with Warren on this one though, it may grow on me!

IMO it looks good, but isn't it too soon?!? nwayz i like it, it reminds me of an R34 GTR with some hint of the current car. don't mind the changes at all;) now when is tamiya making one?! so i can complete my set of scooby snax:cwn27:

I'd agree, it's an improvement over the current model. The new design looks more coherent, less cluttered than the current shape and hell, it'll be an excuse to buy yet another Subaru kit :D
