hows come on the head of an lt1, where the manifolds bolt up, the outside has 2 threaded holes..... on is used for the very outside manifold bolt, but to the inside of that there is an unused threaded hole. whats the deal with that????

The LT engine was used in different vehicles and they all had different types of manifolds, some used the inner bolt hole and others used the outer one.

ok.... thats kinda what i thought..... cuz my pacesetter lt's use the two inner bolts... but thanks for the help. kyle

I believe but am not positive when I got my corvette block (which had its manifolds still on). It used the outside bolts.

Edit- X that. I believe those holes are used for mounting brackets for the accessorys on some models.

Not sure if were talking about the same holes here, but the cylinder heads have holes drilled at each end and were used to remove/install the engine. :2cents:

no, these are the what the stock manifolds are bolted to the heads.... my pacesetters are set up where they use the inner of the bolt holes.
