I just bought a 84 cavalier and it has a vacume leak some where how do I find it. It also sputters when I turn the car off but not all the time.

The only way i've ever found vaccuum leaks was by listening for them....good luck. I'm sure theres an easier way, but until i find that out, i'm stuck listening....

use carb cleaner..when you spray on vaccum hoses and when car idles up after spraying then you'll find the leak or leaks..good luck....

Start tearing shit apart man. Remove your intake hoses and start following all the lines from the throttle body outwards for any slices or mysterious holes. Take your time.

alright ill tell you the best way and then you all can steal it from me and use it yourself. get a propane torch....one that has adjustable gas flow...DO NOT LIGHT THE PROPANE!!! just turn the gas on a little bit and move the nozzle around the engine. when you run the gas around the vaccum leak, the engine should rev up and smooth out. you will see... try it...just please do not have an open flame around.
