Just had to let it out somewhere.

I just got NissanSkyline.com as it expired and I snapped it!

F***!!!

I'm putting up a site and may sell this dude to Motorex who use SkylineGtr.com or another importer somewhere. They may even give me a Skyline for it. lol

This isn't spam, I just can't believe it! The .net .org .co.uk are all in use by skyline dealers/fans.

Please don't hate me, we are all blessed sometime. heh. lol :silly2:

Hmmm... Nice. :D And welcome to AF! ;)

But, of course, content counts. Maybe you can build a site worty of partnering with AF, but that's all up to Igor.

NissanSkyline
09-03-2001, 04:13 AM
Lol. we'll have to see. I may just sell the name, but in the mean time I'll start a site worthy of your partnership. :smoka:

I mainly found out about Skylines after playing Gran Turismo 2, like many people, and saw how amazing they are. That was a great marketing partnership by Nissan.

If I sell the name to motorex or exchange it for a real one ;) I'll give everyone a free ride. I work in the domain biz, and names like this can sell for quite a lot.

I would be impressed if you got skyline.com but nissanskyline.com is kinda weak, i mean why not try and get nissan-skyline.com or nisskyline.com or badassskylines.com.....im just saying that the number of people that will try nissanskyline.com are probably pretty low, i have tried damn near every skyline and i never bothered with nissanskyline.com...although if ya get a skyline out of it, then let me be the first to say ill take you up on the offer...:bandit:

NissanSkyline

I can get type-in results from goto, and more people type "nissan skyline" into the search engine than "skyline" 500% more!

In our business, the dash versions are weak, and are wotrh less than half of non-dash versions. Nobody involved in domains would ever tell you Nissan-Skyline.com is better than NissanSkyline.com

Amazing you typed NisSkyline.com but not Nissanskyline.com
You really are the exception, going against all domain rules. I should tell domain people about your views and see what they say ;)

Trust me though, most people interested will type this, as a skyline can be anything, but a nissan skyline is the exact thing.

micro
09-03-2001, 03:42 PM
hehe, i agree with most of what u said, except that a nissan skyline is an exact thing, now a skyline gt-r is an exact thing, and anything less is uncivilized...hahah, im just fuggin with ya...i still want that ride tho! :bandit:

NissanSkyline

You Bastard!!!!! lol :flipa:

Ha ha ha.

I got screwed.

SkylineUSA
09-03-2001, 04:08 PM
Skylinegtr.com pretty much somes it for me. MotoRex will not care, since they are very established at their present domain name.

I really think people who buy up domain names just to make money are pretty much trolls. No offence there NissanSkyline, just my veiw.

NissanSkyline
09-03-2001, 04:26 PM
No, it's not to be used as a Replacment, but as a visitor catcher.
I know there is no way they would use this name Instead.

6 Times more people search for a "Nissan Skyline" than a "Skyline Gtr" as I can show you the results. Just five people typing this name and arriving at their site who want an import could make 150-350k in sales.

Some people in the domain biz are trolls, but they are very rich trolls.
I and the people I know are not evil trolls

Pop-ups are evil too.

SkylineUSA
09-03-2001, 05:29 PM
Point taken, troll:D

I understand where you are coming from, basically your an opportunist. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, anyone in the states that wants a GTR has heard of MotoRex. Right guys?

Good Luck with your domain extortion :flipa:

I hope you know I too am just :finger: with ya

NissanSkyline

Well I asked for it. I am the Domain Pimp Daddy :smoka:

Gotta say a big Welcome to AF since no one has done so yet:D

See folk's, it's people like NissanSkyline here who belong and will always be welcome. Even after he got a few (friendly) smacks from the group he never took offense and never flamed anyone in return. He just took it with a smile and jabbed back in a friendly way.

Now THAT is how you make a real forum work.

Stick around NissanSkyline, meesa thinksa you OKay!

Plus I'm looking forward to that free ride, and since Micro forgot "I CALL SHOTGUN"!!!! :finger: LOL

The name cost me £10 registry fee. $15

gang$tarr
09-05-2001, 06:35 PM
THAT'S IT!!!! i thought you had to pay a couple grand for a domain like that sold to you

NissanSkyline
09-05-2001, 06:56 PM
No! It became available and expired for anyone to register,
I got it first. It's a massive industry. Great names like holiday.com or Beijing.com sometimes become available because of idiot previous owners.

I only had to pay the registration fee!

gang$tarr
09-05-2001, 07:06 PM
you lucky SOB... now you're gunna make an ass load of cash for doing nothing

NissanSkyline
09-05-2001, 07:22 PM
Lol! But I'd hardly say nothing. It can take hours of boring searching and research etc just to find 1 half decent name

It's like panning for gold, and only specialist people (not me!) get the really big ones like Holiday.com as they have massive pc networks needed to get them before anyone else.

09-05-2001, 09:58 PM
Now that you got it for USD15, in the spirit of brotherhood and camraderie among all of us members of this forum, would you sell it to me foe USD16? Nope, make that USD17.:frog:

I have some interest from Racelogic.co.uk, they want to know how much I am asking for it. Depending how much they want to pay, I may still hold out, as I think I can find many businesses who would want it.

There must be quite a few a japanese companies who would really like to have it.

SkylineUSA
09-06-2001, 03:41 PM
I hope you hold out long enough, so you can get a Skyline. :)

NissanSkyline
09-06-2001, 05:52 PM
I'm not sure how much these guys can afford, but I'm sure a japanese company may fork out a lot.

Race logic's traction control system is in Gran turismo 3.

micro
09-06-2001, 06:58 PM
Again, not to be a downer, but if ya goto http://www.racelogic.co.uk/pictures.htm
then you will notice that they aim for the big boy toys that cost 200+ grand, and i dont think they would give ya much over 2-3 grand for your domain, keep on holding out, im sure you will find someone who wants to pay a ton once the r35 comes out

NissanSkyline
09-06-2001, 07:10 PM
Yeh, a Nissan/Skyline specialist will probably pay more.

Well, there are a lot of companies out there. Just have to ask them all.

micro
09-06-2001, 08:02 PM
yup, hey ill give you a thousand bucks rightnow for it, how does that sound?:bandit:

NissanSkyline

If that's the best offer I ever receive, (although I doubt it) ;) then we have a deal. lol

micro
09-06-2001, 09:43 PM
haha, yeah im quite sure nissan would pay out at least 2 for the name, well if the bring the skyline over to the us at least:bandit:

NissanSkyline
09-07-2001, 04:40 PM
Also got some interest from http://www.abbeymotorsport.co.uk waiting for reply.

Can you believe racelogic.co.uk offered me £100! ($150)

What an insult! Uk companies are terrible for domain name money, which is why I try and deal with foreigners.

Looking for more businesses.

i've seen lots of domains in the states get sold from like $50,000-
