Stolen Car!!!!!!!

This is a long shot but if you are in the phoenix area, i had my JDM crx stolen last night. It is black with the sterring wheel on the right side. Big crack in the windsheild. Whoever stole it knew how to get it started. If those of you in Phoenix see it call 480-570-8808 please. It had SI rims, no tint on windows. The plate reads RHDEF8. You have no idea how much i need everyoneshelp. Thank you......... Jesse

Ouch, I am really sorry to hear that your car was taken and then again already found, but not in any condition that you would enjoy seeing it as. I have some friends in your area that are into cars....I have put the word out to at least hope to find who thought it would be a good idea to take your car. Then next best thing for you to do is watch for your parts to be sold on all honda sites.....hondatech is a BIG ONE, and then again NWstreetracing, and there is always Craigslist. Sorry about your loss, but hope things turn out for you in the end.

the shittiest thing is that i was going to get lojack last week and procrastonated??? had i installed it , there is no doubt that they would had found my car and busted those fucks who did this. i wish they did not find it at all. So many JDM parts out there now.

Damn dude. I'm speechless. I can't tell you how bad i feel for you. Hopefully insurance will wise up and compensate for at least some of it, knowing how big of dicks they are. wtf did they hit that messed up the rad support?? I'm sorry about that dude, but a RHD EF isn't something that's easy to come by and it didn't help that your plates advertised it...you should really invest in a security system and killswitch(es)

I would disconnect the ECU EVERYTIME i left the car. Someone KNEW to lift the carpet and plug in the ECU to get it to start. Someone I know did this and that is what makes me mad( ok i am mad no matter what)Someone HAD to be staking it/me out. it sucks. EVERYBODY listen, don't let this happen to you.

She questioned everything about the car, like does it have a US title and some other shit. I told her thay there is NO car you can compare it to. I also said that everything on the car was an upgrade over th US model. she goes on to say that they won't pay for any upgrades made to the car and will only pay for OEM stuff. I said great, the entire car was oem, just not from this country. my wife and i will have to share the EVO for awhile. if we can afford it then i will get the EVO and she will buy some sort of small SUV to lug the kids around

So they dont want to pay for anything on that car, because its a right hand drive? Thats crap, if it was legal importated (or if its a right hand conversion) then they have to pay for it.

well dude be prepared to go consult with uh attorney. if they arent willing to compensate u in anyway for a car thats now considered legal to own and operate in the US..a car they had no objection to insure..you have some rights and i recommend you setup up consultations if they dont tell you what u wanna hear.

Alot of times they wont let you have the car, nor will they tell you where it is headed..I have known people to track down their "totaled" cars at a local auction and buy it back for a couple hundred dollars, after the insurance company had already cut them a check for a few grand lol.

Why wont they let u keep it? Just tell them u take a few hundered from the check so u can keep it. Will they do that?

yeah i kept my old hf when a dude hit it..got 1500 for it from insurance and sold the car for 550.

yes i did mean getting, i am tired. it sounds like they want to give me a check based on US market for a US CRX. i had a high deductible so i expect a check for 800 dollars. If that is the case, i would rather have the shell and they can take that 800 and shove it up their ass. I can sell the glass roof for about 650 here, the suspension was brand new, instyalled last week. the rotors are also new and it has the climate contrl which is about 100 or so. Then i could sell the metal for scrap. However, i really don't want to see this cart destroyed. It really would be a great project car. Only damage was the front upper frame area. They stripped it but at least they did a clean job. I already staretd 5o price it and my wife has a hard time letting me do this because it would cost alot of money and be very time consuming. I would need pretty much all new wire harnesses( Bam, i would buy all of them from you). Like i said, untill the insurance gets back to me, i dont know what i am going to do. Does anybody know WHY the insurance wont give back the shell or at least let you know wher they are selling it?

i think i know why they don't want to give you the car back. lets say you have a 5th gen civic and blue book was $2500. generally ins would cut the check, take in the car, auction the car off to subsidize the money they just paid out. If you wanted that civic back they would minus say $700 from the $2500 as the estimated loss from not being able to auction the car. pretty simple, right? with older cars they don't yield the same blue book value. in your case, they only value the car at $800. it's not cost effective for them to let you keep it and split the difference. the thing is i think they are trying to catch you in a loop hole. let's be real. we all know that car will make more at the auction than some brand new civic's being passng thru. that crx is a theft recovery rebuilders dream come true if that went thru the system.

that car is completely rebuildable.

my first advice is to jump on www.craigslist.com, www.autotrader.com, or any JDM site (in america) that is selling real RHD cars. if you don't find your own price comparables, you can be sure they won't go out of their way to find their own.

The reason you wouldnt get your shell back, is because when they cut you a check that is them buying what is left of your car. That means that you take the money and they take your problem. If you still wanted the shell, then your best bet, like you mentioned would be to just take your car back and tell them to shove the money right back up there @$$. Either way, I hope things work out for you...glad you already have a plan if you have to take other routes.
