Frostplug?

My 3.1L 1992 Cutlass Supreme is hemoraging coolant. We have looked everywhere and cannot find the source. We believe it is the frost plug (at least that's what we've been calling it, i think its called core plugs or something similar). Where the heck is this thing and do we have to pull the motor to get at it??

I believe what you are refering to is a "freeze plug".
You dont have to pull the motor, but thier are several of these on the engine block and each head.

Though, to get to some of them, you do have to disassemble several things off the engine to get to the freeze plugs.

You will see large and small round things set into the block and heads.
I'd start by looking for green trails running from the sides/ends of the block and heads.

3.1 are notorious for intake leaks below the throtle body.
