Finding new rev limit...

Hi. I recently swapped a JDM H22A (reason I'm in the prelude forum) into my '95 Accord (http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-message?message_id=652855#). My mechanic put a p28 ecu that he chipped and tuned. I asked him if there is a rev limiter (http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-message?message_id=652855#) and he told me it has one, but he wasn't too sure where it kicked in. He told me he thinks it kicks at 8K because when I took it up to 8K, the CEL came on (he told me that was the shift indicator). Can someone shine some light on this for me because this is an area where I have little expertise in. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Well, yes about the CEL. Most tuning programs allow you to program the CEL to come on at a givin RPM. As far at the limiter. If he tuned it, he should know. Punch the throttle once and see where it stops. If it continues past 9, he took it out or put it ridiculously high. Just shift when the light comes on.

Best way to find your new rev limit is to dyno it, you'll know how high it'll get and know not to go over that
