I've arrived at work to have some idiots downstairs running a pneumatic hammer in the ground floor of our building. We're in a small office block and even though I'm on the second floor it sounds like I'm in the same room as a out-of-balance washing machine or a dentist's surgery!
This has been going for the last hour and the only solace I have is that I can close the door to my office and turn the music up enough to almost but not quite drown out the bloody vibration!

Sounds like a fun day. :( I'd refuse to work and leave and go sit in a nice cafe somewhere and have a coffee. :D

Well it's taken one and one half hours but after leaving messages with the building manager on her cell phone, on her land line and then leaving a message with her boss - it's finally stopped.
We've had clients in this morning for briefings and people trying to work on their PCs since 7.30am with this racket!
The ironic thing is I went to a live gig last week in a bar and the noise police shut it down at 10.30pm cos' it was too loud.

lol, sounds like my day yesterday, I had a wisdom tooth pulled out, then went to Macdonalds as its soft n mushy crap, ie - less pain but still more filling than custard etc, so 1/2 way through my meal this jackhammer starts on the footpath so close I could FEEL it, ouch. So I get up and walk off as my heads hurting by now, then I get stung by a wasp just as I was feeling good again.

I feel for you. Office jobs are hard work, being in an office environment is the worst:(.
School is worse though, because you spend 12 years doing subjects you dont even want to do, or a really rubbish at, right up until your 16.
