If Raymon ( blackstang04 ) pops in here he can vouch for my gas thread...:screwy:

That 2nd one was painful. I felt like I was watching something out of Austin Powers.

Wow, I just now saw the second one. It just begs the question, How fucking stupid can you be?
But for the ladies, here's a very optimistic means of defense.

That first clip is one of the reasons I hate to get gas. That's the type of person who doesn't know where their gas door is and parks on the wrong side of the pump, screwing up the smooth traffic flow, and wastes everybody elses' time waiting to get gas while she fumbles around trying to make it work. Just get back in the car, turn it around, or go to another island to get gas on the right side...or move to New Jersey where an attendant puts it in for you.

Stupid girl? maybe, but badly designed pump. Maybe the pumps are different over there, but in this country it's no problem getting the gas nozzle into either side of the car. OK, so occasionally you have to queue behind someone who isn't trying to make a formula one pitstop, but are the extra few seconds that they take really that critical to you? If they are then you have planned your journey badly.Sit back, chill out, quit making stress for yourself. If it bugs you that much, move to a different pump or a different gas station.

Geez Naki, a little harsh there aren't you? The video was over 4 minutes. Any reasonable person would be upset if they waited that long for someone and they hadn't even begun filling their tank!
Waiting for someone slow, that's a given. But waiting for someone who, against all reason, tries to make a too-short hose reach the opposite side of the car, well that's different. (Yes I realize there are other pumps available on the video)
I heartily agree that the hoses should be long enough to avoid this problem, but the fact is that there will be stations where the hose is not long enough to reach across. The ones in the vid look very short, since a BMW 3-series(I think that's what it is) aren't very wide.

I'm glad there is no problem with the pumps where you are. In my area, many gas stations try to make it easy for their customers to get gas by certain marked traffic patterns around the pumps, allowing for customers with fuel tanks on either side of their vehicle to easily fuel up by pulling up to the pumps and not having to stretch the hose to the other side of their vehicle. They use signage and pavement markings to direct the traffic, and there are STILL people who do not "get it" and will pull the wrong way up to the pump and create a traffic jam. They block the way for the line of cars patiently waiting the "proper" way to get gas. Then there are those that don't know how to read the big signs on the pump that say to prepay first, (due to the higher gas prices many stations have experienced an increase in "drive offs" so now the customer has to prepay.) They stand there trying to get the pump to work looking around and getting mad. Finally, one of two things happen. 1) They finally realize there is a sign and read it, then go in and pay, or 2) The attendant tells them over the station's intercom that they need to pay first. No, I'm not trying to make a "pitstop" and it's way more than just a few seconds. And, in fact, I do plan my trips , especially to get gas as there are some stations locally that have gas sales at various times of the week knocking ten cents or more off a gallon of gas, so I try to plan around hitting one of those stations on my way.It just irks me when people don't take the time to learn how to do something as simple as getting gas, something that has become a neccesity for many, and a regular occurence in their lives.

i fill up once a week and i usually get there when nobody else is there (the gas station by my house sells the cheapest gas in the city at around 10 or 11pm) so i usually don't have to deal with these people. but honestly, how hard is it to remember what side the gas door is on? how many times do you have to pump gas before you remember. plus the fact that this girl kept trying to pull the hose when it was obvious to any normal person that it wouldn't reach.
