After I first opened this kit from Revell I was very disappointed with it. I thought it was a new issue but it was actually an old kit re-released in a new box with some new custom wheels thrown in. I knew it was going to take some painting or scratch building to really bring this one to life. Since I haven't done much scratch building I got into painting the details and dressing up the engine by adding sparkplug wires,a washer fluid line, battery cables, alternater wires and a radiator overflow line. I painted it pearl white with metalic blue stripes outlined with the black outline from the decals in the kit. The interior isn't detailed too much, other than the dash. After looking at some pics online I found that there was no detail at all on these cars, everything was the same color. Since I was going for a stock look I left it at that. So here are the pics. Enjoy and tell me what you think.

Fantastic, and I enjoyed following along with the build--not such a bad kit after all, eh? :p

You did a good job with the car. Just by looking at it, it seems a bit bulky. I remember these cars being much more rounded and smooth.
Is it me or is the rear spoiler off a little?
I'm not a huge fan of the wheels as I always thought the Trans Am's stock wheels whether they be the rally or honeycombs always looked best.
I love the pearl paint, it's not over the top as I had imagined through your buildup.
Engine bay looks fantastic! The hood scoop matches the decals very well.
Great job!
Chris

Thanks Chris. It doesn't seem too bulky, maybe just the pictures. If you are refering to the the way the spoiler looks in the picture of the back, then what you are seeing that is off is the rear panel and bumper. After I took the pictures I realized that I didn't glue in the rear panel and it's sitting a little crooked. The stripes are not decals, they are painted metalic blue. Check out the bird on the front, that blue is the decal. The black border around the stripe is the decal. I cut out the blue and just used the border.
