Tis the season for coolant problems...I have an active drip coming down off the back pass. side of the motor. 99 3.1L. I haven't gotten under it yet, the shops' full, but am kind of suspecting that it could be a freeze plug. Any ideas?

Possible but it could be a hose or even the intake or head gasket. If it is back far enough and coming from the drain in the heater box it could be the heater core leaking. Wait until you can inspect it before jumping to any conclusions.

Well, I got the pos ford I'm overhauling out of the way and looked at my GP this afternoon. Near as I can tell, it is coming right from the bottom of the V so I am assuming a head gasket leak. Before I tear into the top of the motor I was thinking about trying something called water glass/liquid glass I heard about. Have you heard of that, and is it a possible fix?

Water Glass is a no no.

Will not mix with anti freeze anyway.

Before tearing the car down, do a pressure test on the cooling system so you are absolutely certain that it is a head gasket. It is a lot of work to change out a head gasket so you will want to be absolutely certain where this leak actually is. I agree that the water glass is not a product you want to use as there is no substitute for a proper repair.

Exactly, a lot of work to tear down to the head gasket. This car just crossed 200k so I am of the opinion that if I am going to get that far into it then I may as well pull and rebuild the motor. However, this is a dumpy 3.1L and I am looking for an upgrade so I don't know if I feel like doing this to a car that will be going to the rally or sold. Anyways, thanks for the feedback.
