After 8-9 long hours of working on the car yesterday, it is back together...
Things done:
Transmission bolted in
Axles swapped
two wheel studs replaced
throttle body/gaskets bolted on
BOV bolted on
coolant flush
oil change
transmission fluid filled
AFC reconnected
So far(since the breakdown) I have:
(in addition to top list)
replaced valve cover gasket
helicoiled VC bolt holes
replaced and painted VC
eliminated TB coolant hoses
eliminated TB vacuum hoses
blocked EGR
replaced intake manifold gasket
cleaned intake manifold
rebuilt clutch slave cylinder
put in SS clutch line
new TOB
new clutch fork
new tob clip
and probably some more...
Now, after I had finished a good 8 hours of working on the car...
I went to start it, and sprayed fuel everywhere...
Apparently, in a rush to get it back together... I forgot to tighten the banjo bolt on the fuel filter... I also missed a ground or something on the starter, as the engine didn't turn over...
I was done working on it, as it was late... but I will hopefully have it figured out by the end of the week...
I also have a lot of wiring to fix... as the coolant sensor wires were basically disentigrated... hopefully, it'll be on the road again...

I did almost all of that on my own... I worked until a/b 6, when my boy Gary came over and did the oil change, and transmission fluid (took an hour to get the bolt off... when you see a pic of it, you'll understand why)...
there won't be any pics of stuff getting put together... it'll be dark every night when I get home trying to finish the odds-n-ends... but I can do some when it's finished...

come to find out the battery is dead as a fuckin' doorknob...
the headlights won't even open... damn...
anywayz, no time to work on it last night... had to work at the car lot... it was cold, and been raining all day...
I get a call while I'm at the car lot, my boy Gary just lined up a '92 talon Tsi Awd (AT)... He's gonna buy it with his tax money... $750, he's gotta replace the headgasket and a few valves... but damn...
The car is red, mostly stock... 2.5" exhaust I think...so I'm pretty siked a/b that... and he's a/b to move into my house... 2 Talons sitting in the driveway...
Hell yeah...
