Trent Reznor has a new lineup (big surprise) and has announced a new album. Personally, I thought [With Teeth] was great, but as his other recent installments, too mainstream and uninspiring. However, this new album, he claims, should tap back to NIN's roots in The Downward spiral to songs like Mr. Self Destruct where he really experiments and plays around.
Also, Manson is working on a new album as well. last i heard, should be out around Valentines Day... haven't heard much about it, but really, I've lost interest after Holy Wood, his work and scene has been a little overrated since.

I stopped with NIN with Further Down the Spiral so my contribution to this thread is limited. However, you mentioned that Reznor's work has become "mainstream". Being the frontrunner of electronic music about 17 years ago now, I'd say it was inevitable. I love industrial music, but have sort of lost interest lately. I get more satisfaction from electronica now such as Autechre, Mouse on Mars, Meat Beat Manifesto aka Jack Dangers (who has mixed some NIN), etc.
