1992 W-250 with the old TBI 360 is supposed to get around 13 mpg freeway, but with the 4.10 axles, she kinda gets around 10.5 just about everywhere, city/freeway, doesn't matter. I think with the tailgate off and nothing in the bed I think its gone up to around 11.5-12mpg. Hauling my 11' Slide-In Camper by itself fully loaded about 9.25 - 9.5 mpg. Hauling said camper, plus towing the 1000lb toy trailer behind it about 8.25-8.54 mpg if I'm pushing a head wind on the freeway.

Just done a complete tune up on my '02 360 after the tune up I drove 120 highway miles and got 12.8 MPG .... the next time I took the same trip, I dumped about 12 ounces of Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner in the tank and got 15.5 MPG .... the only difference is the first trip I was heading North, on the second trip I was heading south ... hahah.. the gain must be a combination of the treatment and the fact I was going downhill (south).. hahha either way, I am a believer in Lucas!!

I want to know! I'm looking to get a cummins, but MPG difference between the hemi and the cummins plays a large role in which one I get.

I'm justing waiting for the old 360 to give up the ghost, then its off to find a donor truck to pull a nice 12 valve cummins and tranny out of to swap into the 4x4.

With the stock injector nozzles I got 18 to 19mpg and now with the #3 Jammer nozzles I got 21.1mpg and lots more power:naughty: but alot more exhaust heat too if I "stay" in it:uhoh:

With my 94 two wheel drive Cummins engine with auto trans I can get 25mpg empty in the summer and goes down to 19 or 20 in winter. Thats an imperial gallon though which is a bit bigger than an American gallon. Also thats driving 60 mph. When I pull the horse trailer it drops to around 17 to 18 mpg. hand calculated from fill up to fill up....Truck and loaded trl. is 14k lbs.....The hemi wont come close to that im sure..

What are all the things I can do to get better mileage from my 5.2 stick? I heard Lucas fuel injector cleaner, ...taking off the front shaft??? and being a manual should help, I should keep it in top gear and stay around what mph/rpm on long highways?
Would a cold air intake help?

If you get a cold air you also need to get an exhaust. More air in needs a way out as well. I got a stick as well and get lately 12-14 city and 17 highway. The typical rpm range is 1500-2000 for best gas mileage.

all I know is these dodge rams are GAS Guzzlers. The fuel MPG seems to vary all the time depending on the way you drive? the best MPG I get is driving from california to utah on flat highway in cruise control. BUT when we drive it hard and drive it up hills. IT eats everything up fast.
Right now gas is about $3.75 a gallon. We fill up at COSTCO because its $.20 cheaper. It cost about $81 to fill the entire tank up. The tank last about 2 to 3 days because we use it every single day. We have 270,000 miles on a gas motor with its 2nd tranny on it. This is the 360 5.9L v8

I just bought a 2005 1500 ram with the hemi. Does a k&N cold air filter give you better gas milage or just better performance. I have friends with ford 250's who have changed chips it doesn't void the warranty and gives you better milage. Anybody know anything about that for a dodge.
