Just a few questions

Hello,
I have a few questions for you specialists:

-How do you do the lowering job?
-I have a glue from Revell but it looks like it eats the plastic and certainly when the pieces are painted it melts the paint, which kind of glue do I have to use?
-How can I polish my finished kit? Which products do I need?
