Hi guys, thought I'd post up some pics of the Lotus Honda 99T i've been working on for the last few months. Its got the photoetch set by Acustion, the little rivets are from the Scale Motorsports set and it has Scale Motorsports carbon fibre decals and the other decals are from Indycals.
This is the first time i've used carbon fibre decals, and i think i've done ok, learning a little bit more with each one that i put on. I know for next time to try and keep the pattern all going in the one direction. Also the first time i've used microset/microsol and i can't believe how i used to get by without them!
Anyway, heres some pic's, click on them to view the big versions. Comments are welcome.

Very nice! The rivets add a nice bit of reality to it! I'm doing a 99T -> 98T conversion and also added PE rivets (around 100 pcs :grinyes: ) Did you sand away the molded rivets before?

No, i just left them there. Next time i would sand them off though, because not all of my rivets sit flat.

It looks good so far.
Can I suggest that you post the 640 X 480 pictures if you want more people to look? I almost didn't check out the full size pictures.

It looks nice on the tiny pics but I cannot open the hi-res ones. :-( Just take Robrex's suggestion. ;-)

Nice work. Microsol/set is one of those products you can't understand how you managed without :)

To embed an image, click on the "Insert Image" icon that looks like the Sun above mountains. Supply the URL of where your image is located. Most of the time you will find that a 640x480 image will have more than enough detail and the file size is often a quarter that of a 1280x960. Not everyone has large monitors or broadband.
Hope that helps,
Billy P

Not really much of an update, i just wanted to see if i could work out how to post images like you guys. Anyway, if it works this is just starting to put all the decals on the body, not very exciting, but i just wanted to see if it worked.

Yes, it works for me. The body-work decals look excellent. Are they originals? I take it that the kit doesn't have Camel decals as standard... are they from F1Specialties? BTW, I have found that Microsol destroys old Tamiya decals unless you are VERY, VERY careful, but that Microset is fine to use on them.

Much better now that you have posted the bigger pictures. Nice progress too, have to admit that is one crazy table cloth or mat you are using for the background. With all that CF, I bet you are seeing it in your dreams too. Looking forward to more of this project.

They are Indycals decals. The kit i have actually came with Camel decals, but I had already bought the Indycals ones before I realised that. The indycals ones are much brighter than the original Tamiya ones though, especially on the silver around the word camel. The Tamiya ones are more of a dull grey colour. The Indycals ones go on very easily, and haven't really needed much microsol, apart from a little bit on the ones in the radiator vents in the side pods.
