RACE 1 with the PT

Hey there all,
I'm back after a month-long fight with my internet provider to hook me
back up to the internet.
In the past month, i haven't gotten out much as a direct result of my schooling. I'm in a program entitled the Canadian Automotive Institute, which is the business side of the automotives. My program hosts the largest out door autoshow in North America, and i've been occupied with that. What does this mean? That i have only 1 race to tell ya about.
I'm out in the PT, just wanted to pick up some dohnuts for a party that night at my place, and i'm stopped in the far right lane at a light. I check my rearview mirror, and this car comes racing down the road and swerves around next to me in the center lane. I'm in the lane to turn onto an exit, and this buddy wants infront of me.
As he stops i see he's in a Cavalier, the 3.0 edition (not sure on the year) and is running a turbocharger tag. The light turns green and i got the jump on him. It was all of 20 yards to the exit so of course i kicked his ass there.
We lined up again at the next light, and he's staring in disbelieve at this PT Cruiser that kicked his ass off the line. I rev once, and the 'smart' guy he is, lowers his windows, cranks the stereo and revs like hell. Me being a little more intelligent, turn off the AC, put the windows up, turn the stereo off and put the car in gear.
Light turns green, and we hit it. It was pretty well even from gears 1-3, if he had a turbno it wasn't doing much. When i put it in 4th, that's where the difference hit. I went from 120 to 140 almost instantly (km/h) and started to leave him behind. This is when i figure his turbo kicked in.
He was coming up fast, and i decided 'what the hell', and hit the NOS. needless to say i took off and left him behind.
this is where i've come a conclusion however. The PT didn't feel secure when the NOS was on, as i haven't modified much of the car to take that the performance other then the power train. As a result, there is no more NOS in the car, just the performance exhaust and a nicely tuned 5 speed.
I felt it was only right to whip the Cavalier in memory of the Bonneville.
That's all for now folks.
;)

Just so everyone knows, the Focus and Caprice belong to my 2 roomies.
I just drive them from time to time.
I'll post stuff about them as time goes on.

It's easy enough to put a 302 in a Caprice, lots of room, but you'd need a new driveshaft to make everything fit properly...
Finding a Boss 302 motor is next to impossible, and generally the few that are around are in Boss 302 Mustangs
The few B302 motors that aren't, are sitting around for spare parts at Ford specialist shops...

Don't ask me about any details as far as the Caprice or any of that, i'm just relaying the info that i've been told about the cars. I haven't done any of the stuff to that car so don't bash me about it cuz i simply don't know nor do i care to find out. It drives when mine doesn't, that's all i know for sure.
NOS is nitrous oxide, and everyone that knows anything about cars knows what it's used for and what it can do. Terminal Velocity you also make the point of being an idiot about the situation, and i don't understand why. 3.0 Cavaliers suck, that's all there is to it. Just cuz he had a turbo tag doesn't necessarily mean there was one. I just figured there was one since he started to catch up like he had one. A stock PT with an automatic could whip a 3.0 Cavalier as far as i'm concerned.
I honestly don't care whether or not you believe me, that's what went down.
Mr. Arizona? What the hell is that?
:bloated:
And yea, i do attend Georgian College.

The LeBaron died the same fate? NO! That's news to me!
Yeah, the Bonneville did get wrapped around a tree.
My home is in Calgary, but my program is based out of Georgian College in Barrie Ontario. Therefore, i only STAY in Barrie for the school year, and go HOME to Calgary.
My buddy, as far as i'm concerned, won't give me that info cuz i'm not speaking him. He got drunk and beat up a good friend of mine so i'm not speaking to him.
The NOS question i won't answer as i no-longer have it on the car as i said, so it doesn't matter one way or the other.
My apologies to TerminalVelocity, i didn't know you and I apologize for losin my cool. Thanks to all who backed me up, it's good to hear that
i've made a couple of buddies on here.
Peace.

db, you live close to Georgian?
Does your buddy in the program have a bonneville aswell, or have you been down by the college in the last 2 weeks or so?
I think i've either seen you or someone with a bonneville like yours around the school.....
