Tahoe Miles

How many people have over 100,000 miles on their Tahoe and what kind of problems have you had since the 100,000 mark.

I've got 128,000 on my '97, and so far since the 100,000 mark, the only major problem was the brake pedel pulsing by the ABS. Removed sensors, cleaned rust build-up on hubs and reinstalled. Back to normal. There is a wander in the steering which has to be looked into, but that will have to wait for better weather. Not sure if it's mechanical or that EVO sensor everyone seems to mention on here. Other than that, all's well, knock-on-wood. All other problems occured well before 100,000 miles.

My 99 Yukon had an uncontrollable wandering. It desperatley needed new tie rod ends ,pitman arm, idler arm. If you dont mind rolling on the floor its not a hard fix.

I wouldn't say mines uncontrollable, but I'm always moving the steering wheel a little this way a little that way, just to keep it going in a straight line. I changed the idler arm some 20,000 miles ago, and everything else seemed ok. Unfortunately I've got to wait for the snow to go and the temperature to rise above 20 before I go crawling around underneath to see what's wrong, if anything. My wife seems to think it's ME! Never underestimate the wife.

120,000 on my 96 and looking for a tranny. Head gasket replaced about 100,000 also. Other than that it's been routine (brakes, exhaust, etc.) Runs fairly straight.

Lost the transmission at 127,000. Other than that, it's been solid - at 140,000 now.

I have 187,000 miles on my 97 tahoe.
At 180,000 I had a coolant leak.
Just the usual wear and tear stuff. Breaks, Fuel pump, and ball joints.

I have 107,000 miles on my 01' tahoe. The only problem I have had is when you start it you have to keep your foot on the gas, otherwise it dies. You also have to do this at stop lights otherwise the RPMs fall and it dies again. Its a quick fix but the mechanic said it was going to be $750 to do so.

Lost my first motor at 106K with a bad rod bearing. Relaced it with a new GM crate motor, and at 197k now it still going very strong.

The u-joints on both front and rear shafts went at around 110-125k, about the same time the drivers heated seat quit.

The original back brakes went out at about 150K and the power brake booster went at about that time also. Original radiator went out last year at around 175k. Lots of electrical switches and door release handles, but other than that it has been pretty solid.

I have 221,000 on a 1995 Tahoe. I got it with 211,000 as a bank repo for 770.00. I replaced the oil cooler lines (leaking), brakes, seals, tires, starter, couple minor interior things. Right now, I have a lifter ticking that I will have to take care of this summer. Tranny seems good, but I don't know if it is replaced or not, I didn't find a reciept for that. I have that same front end drift as others. I have also had the heater relay go out twice now in the past couple months. I keep it in the garage every night so it stays out of the weather. I like my rig, but the fuel mileage blows. About 14.5:grinyes: right after oil change, towards the end I get about 11mpg:frown:. I usually park my vehicles in summer and drive a company truck, so that is when I'll have a chance to get some stuff done.
