Starting issues

My girlfriend has a 97 geo prism that was fine until my father tried cleaning the engine. The car started and was driven home the day he cleaned the engine but now it will not start and when it does start it only runs for about 5 or 10 seconds and goes off. Durning the time it's running, it runs very rough. Any ideas of what we can do.

Spray the spark plug boots on both ends with WD-40 and wipe down the cap (with boots removed) of the distributer. Dont remove the spark plug, but spray a little bit of the "40" on to the top of the plug. :)

Almost the same thing happened to my buddy. He was working on his truck went inside to eat dinner and before he knew it it was pouring down the rain.

Had him try spraying down his entire motor bay with WD-40 and after a couple tries, the motor started up and no trouble since :)
