Envoy steering column shroud removal

Is a special tool required to remove the steering column shroud? (calm shell). I want to get access to the passlock wires. I know they are in the main iginition harness but I'm not sure which they are, and don't want to alter the wrong wire (like say the airbag). I think they are yellow, black and white.
