THE BEST TWO CARS EVER MADE UNDER THE BMW NAME .
i have BMW 316I E36 and also TOYOT LEVIN AE86 .
i would like to buy/have a BMW E30 ///M 3 ( MY DRIAM CAR ) .
BUT the BMW have one problem in her engines :
all most , all engine that give u satisfaction is 2000cc or over 2000cc , without 1,8is engine
i want to ask : WHY IS THAT ?

I think he is asking why the 4 cylinder BMWs aren't very good (with exception to the E30 M3).

The 4 cylinder BMW engines were made to be less expensive and to get better fuel economy. Within a certain series of BMWs, the more you pay, the more power you get. Its simply a matter of engine tuning and displacement. The bigger the engine, the more power. Its pretty simple, you get what you pay for.

ok man , i know that .
but other companies prodused a 1300cc , 1400cc , 1500cc , 1600cc and 1800cc , that gives u good power and still be a economic . like 1600cc TOYOTA 4A-G(Z)E ( 16v or 20v ) it gives u good HPs ( 112hp to 170hp ) that where prodused from the year 1984 to the year 1999 .
i think that the BMW E30 M POWER engine is the only engine from the BMW company u can compar it with the TOYOTAs 4A-G(Z)E engine . and there is TOYOTA 1G-G(T/Z)E 6-cil. that u can comper with the BMW 6-cil. engine .
I have a TOYOTA AE86 LEVIN 1.6L and if i can i will get a BMW E30 M POWER . i love BMW but i think olso that
TOYOTA is a better produser of sporty engines .

The comment that Toyota makes better engines then BMW is simply rediculous.

Does Toyota make better 4 cylinders? perhaps. For the most part, BMW has never cared too much about I4s. Once you get into the BMW I6, V8, or V10 Toyota is left in the dust.

Tell me this, where is Toyota's sports car today? The Supra has been dead for some time now, just like the MR2 and the Celica. As far as I'm concerned, at the moment, Toyota isn't just a worse performance company then BMW, they are one of the worst performance car companies in the entire world. There is no sporty Toyota today.

Those 4cyl toyota engines have no torque. The BMW inline 6 engines have a pretty much flat torque curve that is why they are still competative to newer, more powerful engines of today's cars
