Remote Start / Factory Alarm Starter Kill

I am having a bit of trouble with the Company truck. Its an '05 F150. The last few days I have had extremely difficulty getting it going. It seems like the factory alarm has a starter kill that won't let it start. The first 2 times this happend I played around with the lock, unlock and panic buttons until finally it worked. This time I can't get the starter to engage. We've had an extreme cold spell this week (-40s) but the truck starts great once this problem goes away.
Any idea what's wrong?

Wait, what's going on??? Is it problems with the remote start or is there one installed??? Or, are you having problems starting it with the key???

Both. It won't start with the remote or the key. All of my attempts now are with the key though.

Unhook or even remove the bypass. What bypass did you use and what wires are hooked up to what?

I got it to start today by turning the key while holding down the bypass. I am not sure what the problem is. The remote start was an option when the truck was new.

My bet it's something with the bypass. I still would like to know what the bypass is brand??? Model????

The manual says:
"Ford Motor Company - Vehicle Security and Remote Start Systems"
"Remote Start System with Deluxe Vehicle Security"
"Featuring PowerCode Technology"
It doesn't say any model # though.

OK, it's that cheap ass Code Alarm piece that's rebadged as a Ford product. Call you dealer and have them remove it.

So, there's more than one Ford dealer.

I was just referring to the fact that that seemed like a non-warranty fix. I assumed a ford dealer would want to replace it and not just remove it.

No, what you have in there is the Ford add on piece that is sold to Ford by Code Alarm and sold/installed by Ford dealerships. They should be able to help you out.
Now, it also could be a faulty PATS decoder too but they should be able to figure that out.
