okay, so i was doing so reading on the parts i said i was gonna get in a previous thread and they do turn out to be quite costly. So i was wondering if anyone could give me a list of the best starter parts and their manufactuer worth the money. My car is a '92 3000GT SL.

If you mean performance and you do not want to go turbo try getting a 3SX downpipe, test pipe, K&N air filter, you could remove your resonator for free, and check at an exhaust shop and see if they could make you a custom exhaust. Those would be good starters.

Couple questions:
What are your goals? I ask because many people toss alot of money on individual parts into their cars, and in the long run it would have been better for them to have saved for something bigger that will be much more cost-effective power.
If you just want a slightly faster car, Sl3000gt's ideas are great starting points. Starting with the intake and exhaust are great because a) it increases flow in and out of hte engine allowing it to breathe better, and b) because they are good places to start to learn about your car and do work yourself if you are just starting out.
Also the best place to start is always making sure you car is running properly, so if it's in need of a tuneup, or getting close to a 60k/5 year interval, do the tuneup first.
Nitrous, a TT conversion, or a Supercharger maybe more of what you are looking for if you are looking to go significantly faster. However that increase in performance will cost you more than bolt on performance upgrades...and will require more labor and knowledge to install.
Now if you are looking for ALOT more power, and don't necessarily feel like doing a turbo conversion is for you, you can always buy a vr4, however, if you are in the first few years of getting your driver's license I highly recommend against this. Nothing personal, I say it to everyone.
There is alot of good stuff in our FAQ, please check it out when you have time.
